Ableton Live Lite Free Download

@Ableton How many computers can you install Live 10 on? I have 3 computers that I use regularly, and with Live 9, I would've only been able.

Ableton Live 8 Registration

Now that Ableton is giving away Live 9 Lite with some Ableton LINK iOS apps I ask myself what is the status of this software. Of course I looked at the Ableton info page: https://www.ableton.com/en/products/live-lite/features/

But what I can't find is on how many computers (macs and/ or pcs) I can install this lite version. Besides that has anybody experience with this Lite version. Is it any good (can it handle all Ableton Live stuff and can you save and record tracks) or do you need to update for this simple things. So is it more a very limited teaser and piece of crippled software of the real thing? Also see nowhere how much upgrade costs.

Here's a link to the comparison chart:
    https://www.ableton.com/en/live/feature-comparison/

It's a great introduction to the software. I used it for a few weeks before making the plunge for the full suite. I love using it.

  • I got Ableton Lite with my Fender Amp, just downloaded it onto my laptop but I don't have enough performance-enhancing substances to learn a new DAW right now.

  • 8 audio and midi tracks. 8 Scenes.
    https://www.ableton.com/en/products/live-lite/features/

  • I think there's not so much you can do here. Is it good to see how Live look and feel, try a few instruments (Simpler is amazing), VST, Link some Link enable apps..

  • Cool. And how does one make use of the hundreds of synths and drum machines on the ipad? Is that MusicIO? Or is there built-in midi capacity in OS10?

  • Although I was already a Live Suite owner, I was stuck in my old DAW ways and wasn't really a big user of it until all of these integration features started pulling my chain. The master plan is working, and I guess Max for Live is now flickering somewhere on the horizon.

    Hmm.
OK, @blocsxnovation. If you think all this seamless integration is going to distract me from my job and make me spend hours looking into picking up a Circuit and edging closer to Ableton, IT IS WORKING.

  • Thank you all for your comments. But the most important question is. How is the licensing of Ableton Lite, can I install it on multiple computers or just only one?

  • @mannix, I am pretty sure 2.

My question is, you can get a copy with patterning, tritraq, gadget, and blocswave. Thats 4 licenses. So you could technically authorize 8 computers.

    That's what i'm thinking, too.

Never really got deep into my Standard version .. That's changing now..

There are many ways. If you're able to plug in your ipad via lightning-to-USB then technically you don't need anything. You'll need (probably) Enable the iPAD in the Audio/MIDI Studio. Then (what I do) is set up an IAC (Inter-App-Communicaton) Bus on the Mac (also in Audio/MIDI Setup). This effectively makes the MAC a Host, and devices like iPAD will 'see' the IAC bus, which should appear to them as Network Session. From there you might have to tinker with the Audio In/Out depending on your interface setup - to get the audio going.

From what I recall there aren't any 'annoying' limitations like time-outs, inability to save etc. M4Live is Not part of Lite, so that's significant. Track/Scene limitations as mentioned. Complex Pro warping isn't there either.

  • You're mainly limited to 8 tracks and have access to less effects, those are the main limitations of Lite compared to standard. You get 2 simultaneous installs with all versions of Live, but Ableton is really lenient about this if something goes wrong. You can send them an email at [email protected] explaining the situation and they'll often reset your unlocks for you.

  • once i bought small akai LPD8 it was 49EUR, akai included 50EUR off coupon for Ableton stuff, so i bought Live Intro for 29EUR (79 was the full cost for Intro). And i had some credit over paypal. so at the end it was cheap

I have suite installed on my Windows And Mac desktops and also on my laptop, all on one licence, I only use one machine at a time, but yes, you can install on multiple machines.

did the same with my MPK mini, 29 € for the Intro Version
then over the course of time I upgraded twice during Ableton discount periods, so now it's the Suite

If you need to run simultaneously they have a discounted license. You contact them here for that.

If you're in a Band scenario then you can get a discounted 'Multiple License' here.

  • Super thanks for all the responders to my questions! Everything is clear now

That's cheap. Live Intro has 16 tracks and a lot more audio fx than Live Lite. If you already own some VST plug-ins and if you don't need hq timestretching/warping, Live Intro offers a lot for little money.

For windows there's a huge quantity of free VST plugins, especially when you work with 32bits (x86). Even most plugins made before 2000 are still working fine under Win 10.

  • So I have the Ableton Lite offer because I own Gadget and Patterning, etc..

    Where is that offer, again?

Izotope ozone 6 crack serial. Try 'exporting' a Ableton Live project in Gadget and check the bottom of the menu..
(Just bellow iTunes & DropBox options).

Samu, if I'm ever on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, you're definitely one of the lifelines.

  • Here is a question for you's guy's. Now that a lot of iOS musician makers have access to Ableton Live Lite, is there a need for some tutorials strictly based on Ableton Live Lite and maybe how to integrate it into your workflow, or use it to your advantage?

You can find tons of Ableton Tutorials but non seem to focus on the limitations of the Lite version.

Especially now that I have an ICA4+, I don't really need to continue to search of an that can do what Simpler can do. It would be nice, to have Simpler on a mobile device but not necessary for me, since I spend most of my time near my computer.

  • To revive an old thread…

Anyone got an Ableton project which works well with the Lite version? (Max of eight tracks and eight scenes, with limited effects and instruments, but still a lot of fun to play.)

Given the fact that all sorts of iOS apps give away licenses to Ableton Live Lite, one could reasonably expect that iOS musickers have created cool things with that limited version. So… anyone has project files to share?

In some ways, Ableton Live Lite was my first DAW. Used the license from Korg Gadget, a year or so ago. Now, my nephew would like to understand how Ableton Live works. He has access to an iMac and he uses an iPad, an iPhone, and a Launchpad Mini (so he actually has Ableton Live Launchpad Edition). My strategy might be to create a project file to help him learn, but my guess is that some people here in the forums have experimented with cool integrations with iOS devices, which could be cool.

So, as @gmslayton says, there are plenty of Ableton Tutorials online, but Lite (or Launchpad, presumably) can’t open the typical project files from those.

A limited version is actually a good fit for me and for teaching/training. Someone can do a lot with 64 clips and there are enough free VSTs around to make for fun stuff. In my case, the Korg Gadget for Mac plugins can help flesh out Ableton Live Lite projects (but my nephew doesn’t have that).

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

  • Does anybody know if they are going to introduce Live 10 Lite?
